Who we are:
The Edwards Queer Students’ Society was established in 2021 at the Edwards School of Business to provide a welcoming and safe environment where our 2SLGBTQ+ students, staff, and faculty can live their authentic selves.
We host events to bring together an inclusive community within Edwards, and use these events to highlight important topics surrounding the 2SLGBTQ+ community and educate our members and attendees.
We welcome all USask students to join us in building a more welcoming, accepting, and inclusive Edwards community for all 2SLGBTQ+ students through intentional and meaningful engagement.
Annual Report
Welcome to the Annual Report of the EQSS! We are excited to share our accomplishments and milestones from the 2022/23 school year.
As a student-led organization, we aim to create a supportive and inclusive community for queer students in Edwards. In our first year, we have expanded our reach and impact, and we are proud to say that we have achieved several goals we set for ourselves.
We organized a number of events, including networking opportunities with queer professionals and allies, workshops focused on empowering and educating queer students, and social events to bring the community together.
We are grateful for the support of our members, sponsors, and partners, who have helped us achieve our goals and make a difference in the lives of queer business students. We are excited to continue our work and build on our successes in the coming year. Thank you!

Alec Remai (he/him)
Head of Finance
Hey! My name is Alec and I'm the Head of Finance this year. I'm excited to work with the team to put on meaningful events and initiatives for the queer student community! My hobbies include the gym, reading, and dancing. Say hi if you see me somewhere!
Dia Moodley (she/they)
Head of Events & Programs
Hi, I'm Dia! I love reading and music, and I really enjoy gaming too. The EQSS is important to me because it gave me the opportunity to help create a safe and inclusive environment for students to meet others and have fun. I really love being apart of the EQSS because even within our group, we bring diversity and a supportive attitude into our shared space.
Madi Entwistle (she/they)
Head of Marketing & Communications
Hello, I'm Madi! I'm an accounting student currently in 2nd year. This is my second year being a part of the Edwards Queer Students Society and I'm looking forward to bringing my skillset to a leadership role this year. When I'm not studying, I spend my time learning languages, collecting physical albums from my favourite artists, and going down random commentary rabbit holes on YouTube. I joined EQSS to pursue my passion for inclusivity and hope to create a space where everyone can comfortably be themselves!
Rellie Mananzan (he/him)
Head of Operations & Strategy
Hey all, I'm Rellie (pronounced like "relish" or "relative"), a third-year management major who talks a lot. I joined in my first year, thinking that the EQSS was just a group for Edwards students who happen to be 2SLGBTQ+ to learn they're not alone...and then the world changed. I began to see that everyone has a part in addressing the world's need for socially conscious professionals. Sometimes that involves spearheading the operations of a student group (no puns intended) and giving the opportunities to learn and prepare for the world's challenges. If you recognize me on campus, talk to me about writing, fandoms, and graphic design!
